Urgent help needed: Passport problem

My passport was damaged during travel from US to India and I had to apply for a duplicate tatkaal passport. Now the passport number and the issue and expiry date will be changed, how will I explain it? And how can I change this information? My visa appointment is next week, can someone please help me?

just carry both passports for interview. You should be fine

Hey doc ...

... once your interview is done can you post your experience on this forum cause I have a similar situation and I need to find out if it is ok to go for the interview with a different passport than the one that was used to book the appointment.
