  • Going to us for 5 months worried about POE

Hi all, I am new here and hoping to find some advise, I looked on visa journey website and the people on there are so rude and horrible, anyway here is my question, I visited the US in November 2016, I was planning to stay for 5 months to tour Arizona, Nevada and California with my American friend and her husband, when I got to PoE in Atlanta I told the office I was only staying 5 weeks, he didn't ask to see my ticket and allowed me a 6 month entry. however I left after three weeks due to medical emergency at home, I am now going back to the US for 5 months, some people on the Internet say you will never be admitted to the US if you tell the POE that you're staying for 5 months, so now I am very worried because I already booked the ticket from March 22 - August 24 without thinking about the possibility of being denied entry. Changing the ticket or getting another one way ticket is extremely expensive with exchange rate, I have budgeted for 5 months only and can't afford the extra cost of a new ticket or change of ticket, I will be staying with my friend and her husband and we are spliting costs I have taken leave from work that was due to me. This is only my second visit to the US. Please can anyone advise me? Thanks

Don't tell 5 months that will lead to more questioning. Just say 2 months and they will give for 6 months which is pretty much standard for all tourists.

Do you think they would ask to see the return ticket?

          Generally they don't.

So I should be okay to say two months then?
