  • B2 Visa Denied for Parents, Need Help for 2nd Interview.

    Hello All,

I have a few questions regarding USA B2 Visa

Last week my mom and my father applied for B2 Tourist Visa to come to visit us, we are a permanent resident in the USA.
Visa Officer refused the visa with reasoning 214b.
I believe the reason for the visa denial was related to V.O question “How long you are going to stay in America”. my mother answers this question by saying 5 months and putting on Ds160 as 5 months and my Father said 5 weeks since he is government employee he has only 5 weeks of vacation and mom is retired so she wanted spent more time with us. I guess V.O didn’t like that and refused.

So we are going to get the 2nd interview and I have several questions.

1.- Mom this time is going to put 5 weeks as my father to match on DS160,
.- Does V.O ask why did you change duration from 5 Months to 5 Weeks from the last interview? If so how should we answer this question?

2.- Let’s say visa officer gave us 10 years visa and if said we are going to stay 5 weeks, if we stay 4 months would that cause any problem next time my parent visit us?

3.- What kind of question should we expect for the second interview?

All help will be appreciated, their visit is really important for us.

    Thanks,

    You can apply again.

    1. I would say stick with the duration whatever she told to VO earlier. She needs to be honest and give answer truthfully about the reason for her stay in US is longer than your dad.
    2. May be. Try to stay whatever duration specified in ds-160 form.
    3. They must have note in their system for the visa rejection. That's why it's best not to make any changes in ds-160 form.
