Hi my friend is sponsoring me to come to the USA. He has completed an invitation letter and has sent all the documents. He has told me that my visa has been accepted from his end and I should be receiving a letter inviting e to an interview and medical. Does anyone have any ideas long will it take to receive the letter?

I am not sure what he means, your visa has been accepted from his end. You apply for the visa and then you attend the interview. If someone is providing documents to show an invitation letter or they are helping pay for your trip costs and providing proof that is fine, but there is no such thing as someone sponsoring a visa and the only time a visa will be approved or denied is after the interview unless further information is requested.Originally posted by froogle.1 View Post

Hi thanks for your reply. The visa application has gone through him in America. He's told me that it has been agreed so far from his end and they will be contacting the UK to call me for an interview. I just wondered how long this usually takes.Comment

That is not how it works with tourist visas
Perhaps he was nice enough to fill out the application forms online (Electronic DS-160), posing as you, for your convenience.
The next step is to pay the visa fee and schedule an appointment online
