Can I visit US from Canada?

Hi,

I have stayed in the US for 6 years on L1A visa and have moved to Canada to stay for an year. This will also reset my time spent in the US if I am out of the country for an year.

I wanted to visit my friends in the US for summer. Could you please let me know if there would be any issue with getting B2 visa or my renewal for L1 visa in the future? if I visit US will my US stay clock be calculated from the time I leave US on B2 visa? I am holding India passport.

Do you have Canada's permanent residency? What's your legal status in Canada?

B2 visa is separate from L1. So that will not affect your L1 renewal. As per my understanding, You should apply US visa from your home country NOT from Canada. If you apply chances of B2 visa approval will be minimal.
