  • B2 Visa for mother denied

    Hi All,

I am really disheartened that my mother's B2 visa is denied today. My sister invited my mother for her Graduation ceremony in US in May 2017. In DS-160 we filled 'Self' because currently my sister is a student and cannot show bank balance to support her for the travel but she has got a job which will after the graduation, she sent her offer letter also. Also my mother has enough finances but her salary is very low. Also she is travelling without my Dad so that was a strong reason for her to come back to India. She also took her property papers with her. My mother went with my uncle for the interview (because she is disabled) and my uncle said that my father is working which he is not and is also mentioned in DS-160. Do you think finances were the issue or him giving incorrect information were the reason for denial?

we are thinking if we should try one more time?

    Thanks !!

Giving incorrect information. Always be honest, tell the truth and don't lie. The information given at the time of interview and in ds-160 form is contradictory.

    She can reapply.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.

I understand. He gave incorrect information by mistake. Do you think re-applying with same information would be alright?
or should I change in the financial front, saying that I (eldest daughter living in Canada) will be sponsoring her?
