  • MOM & MIL got Visa at Chennai Consulate

We would like to thank Admin and each and every one contributing for this forum. We have followed all the instructions provided by this forum.

My MOM and MIL(Widow) had same appointment time (8:00 AM) and they were in the same counter one after another.

The following are the questions asked to my MOM.

    1.What is your husband doing?
    2.What is your Son doing?
    3.What is your husband's salary?

My MOM answered for all the questions and the visa was granted.

The following are the questions asked to my MIL.

    1.Who is there in US?
2.How many children's do you have?
    3.Is your daughter married?
    4.When your husband expired?

She answered for all the questions and granted visa.

Once again I thank each and everyone. It looks like the visa process is easy now. However they have gone through the documents for both of them.

Did you mother and MIL got their passport back. If not, when they will get it back. I just want to know this so that I can plan travel dates for my parents accordingly.

I am curious to know if there is any problem for people above 80 years to get a visitor's visa if the son and daughter-in-law are in US and have an H1B visa.

No they haven't. however they can come to know through the passport.

I think there is no interview for 79+ and under 14. However please check at consulate site.

                    Got Passport

We have received the passport on the third day after the interview and it is stamped for 10 years multiple entry.

Now everything is set and purchased the air tickets in a good deal. Now we are looking for Medical Insurance. Need suggestion as which is best and how much it costs for 54 & 63 years old people.
