Couple of questions (Graduation / B2 Duration)

Hi - When a current student applies for a visitors visa for his/her parents to visit, and the reason is to attend graduation, what sort of proof from school should be sent? And secondly for anyone here who has applied for that reason, how long (duration) was the visa granted for. Meaning was it for the typical 6 months or a shorter duration to just attend the graduation and return to India?

1. Photocopies of passport, visa and I-20., Letter of good standing from department., Letter of good standing from department.

2. If their visa is granted. Their stay in US will be decide by the immigration officer at the port of entry and they can stay in US until i-94 expiration date.
