Tourist Visa interview for my 13 years old son instead of dropbox approval.

I had applied for my 13 years old son for visa under category B1/B2.
US Immigration department called for interview instead of drop box approval
can any body having a same experience if so pls share the experience and
any special questions if pls guide me.
