Original Birth Certificate!!!!

Hi Guys,

I already sent my mom copy of my birth certificate.But now i learned from other posts and immihelp forum i have to send the original.Is it a must??Or copy is enough??Anybody got visa approved with copy of Birth Certficate??
I dont want this to be a pbm!!!So i need help.Can anybody explain this??

Its better to send it. I sent it to my father for his interview in Chennai consulate but they never asked about it. Think in Mumbai, its a mandatory doc.

Birth cert not available

Hi gurus,

My original BC is not available since I was born before they started keeping records. My parents have a visa appt at Kolkata. They are carrying Effidevit from mother, father and grandmother and also my matriculaton certificate. Is a 'Not available' cert from municipality absolutely essential? I was born in Bihar and there is not enough time to get the cert now.

send an email to the consulate asking if bc is required...they replied for me saying a copy of passport is enough
