I have question about consulate jurisdiction for different indian states.
Madhya Pradesh comes under the jurisdiction of Mumbai/Bombay for a long time or atleast since I know for last almost 10 years. Still I know 100s of cases(Including myself , my family and friends) where New Delhi Embassy has issued visa for people who were residing in Madhya Pradesh. This happened even in late 2004 early 2005 when TTS service was effective.
But this new VFS visa online application does not allow to choose New Dehi for visa interview at all if you choose Madhya Pradesh as residing state .
My Questions are:
(a) Is there any one who knows how to chose New Delhi US Embassey for visa interview if you reside in Madhya Pradeshi ( without choosing invalid residing state such as Utter Pradesh)?
(b) Will it be a problem if we do choose another state (like UP) in the beginning while submitting application so that we are allocated New Delhi for interview (although applicant actually lives in MP and will mention MP address on application form)?
(c) Is there anyone who got a visa recently (since VFS system came) from a US Embassey/Consulate which was not the jurisdiction for the state where they reside (like in above example someone got the visa from Delhi who was living in Madhya Pradesh)?
