  • Visitors visa for Mother in law

I am planning go invite my mother in law to visit USA in the month of Jun 2017.

    My questions are

    1. Are original sponsorship documents need to be present during interview or scanned copies will work?
    2. My in-laws are farmers and have crop loan currently. Do they need to maintain bank balance for at least 6 months, if so how much?
    3. Properties are named under my father in-law and my mother in-law does not have any properties. For now I am just planning to invite my mother in-law only as she could be helpful to newborn in Jul 2017. What are the chances of getting visa if she alone applies?
    4. Purpose of visit - Can she mention about helping grandchild when VO ask?

Thank you for the help and support!!!

Your mother in law would apply for the B1/B2 visitor and tourism visa. Her purpose for travel would be to see and visit her newborn grandchild. Her chances will depend on her ability to show strong ties to home country. Your father in law not traveling with her may help her chances. However, all she can do is apply. I would send the originals to her if possible, if not, she could take the scanned copies.

      1. some documents you can send copy while others needs to send original. You will find the information at, https://www.immihelp.com/usa-visitor...sor-documents/
      2. It's better. You are sponsoring her visit. So show whatever bank balance they have regularly. Because if you transfer money now it will not help but it will harm her visa application.
      3. Show whatever property under your father name. Visa applicant evaluate each applicant individually. So it doesn't matter whether they apply together or not.
      4. Tourism.
