DS160 submitted and MRV payment paid, can i submit a new DS160 & schedule apointment

Hi Everyone,

I have filed two DS160 (submitted) for my in laws and the MRV payment is done as well. One mistake i have done is .. i have kept the trip sponsor as self(both in laws) and their bank balance is around 4 Lakhs(not sure if this is enough). Keeping in mind that they are just sponsoring for their tickets and rest of expenses (stay,food,and siteseeing) will anyways be on me.

Now that i would like to change that option and submit new DS160 saying i will be sponsoring for their trip, Can i just schedule the appointment with the new DS160 confirmation?

Are the DS160's filled at starting linked to the payments made ? if i use new DS160 and schedule appointment, will the receipt still be valid?

Note: i have not yet scheduled any appointment till now , as i am doubtful.

If you have not yet scheduled an appointment, you can fill new DS-160 and use that for an appointment.
