Scanned copies for B2

Hi,
I have two questions,
i have to send grad invitation letters to my parents for B2 application which are signed from college.
1) so do i have send them directly or can i fax/send scanned copy(will scan or fax be accepted by visa officer what is the rule).
2) what are other documents required to be sent.
