  • Multiple relatives in the US - who should be inviting?

Hi guys, I hope to get some help based on your experience.

I and my husband live in the US (he's on L1 visa, so we are temporary residents). My sister is a green card holder (through work). My mother is a green card holder (through second marriage). Question: we want to invite my 18-year-old brother to visit and wonder who should be the inviting party. My sister invited him last year, but his application was rejected. Now we are wondering if it's best for our mom to invite him (reunion with mom after a few years blabla) - or for me (because I'm a non-GC holder and recently had a baby, so he's coming to meet the new nephew)? Mom has a different last name on her green card than on her passport though, but he can provide the necessary paperwork, of course.

He has my father and another brother left at home and is currently studying), so of course he'll do his best to demonstrate his ties.

Any advice would be appreciated! My mom is getting desperate :-/ Thanks all!

It does not matter whether you sponsor, your sister does or your mother does.

The most important thing is that your brother should able to show that he has enough ties to the home country that he will return.

Anyone can but chances are very slim because his mother is a permanent resident and can apply for his under F2A category. The VO will assume he will not return back.
