  • B2 application to meet wife who's on Exchange at an MBA program

    Folks,

My wife is currently on exchange program at an MBA school and we plan to do a quick vacation before she comes back to India. I've following queries if you could help -
    1. While filling the DS 160 Form it asks - "Do you have any immediate relative staying in US"? Should I say Yes (because my wife is there right now as "non immigrant", or say NO, because she is not working there or permanently staying there
    2. For this scenario, is B2 a better application or J2? J2 is meant for dependents of exchange students who can later also apply for work authorization. I am not dependent on my wife and I am not looking for Work permit either.
    3. What supporting documents should I carry for Visa interview?
    4. Whom should I mention in "COntact Person details" section. I've a friend in US who is an employee there and I've entered his details. Should I enter my wife's details instead?
    5. Should I carry an invitation letter from my friend or wife or both to Visa interview?

I know this is an exhaustive set of questions, but would really help if you could provide your advice on this.

    Thanks
