  • VFS appointment dates not available

I am trying to book thru VFS for the first time (for my in law).
    Language is malayalam.
Past ten days i have been checking, but no dates available.

Do I need to keep checking everyday or is there probable time when the dates suddenly become available (like end of week etc).

    Thanks for the help.

I would suggest... just keep trying... if you are lucky you would get a date whenever someone cancels it or wait till VFS/consulate opens next available dates

I don't understand why VFS / Consulate can not announce on their website as to when they are going to open the next availability (month)? It is rediculous to keep checking their website every minute to see for appointment availability.

        Thanx.
I see that English dates are available.
It may be wise idea to get an English appointment and send her for spoken english class than waiting indefenitely for a malayalam appointment :-)

Keep checking the dates. The best time is 4 - 7 p.m. CST and midnight 11 - 2 a.m. . We have seen lot of available dates at this time (30 to 45 days back) and we were able to prepone at the time. Initially we got the dates for June & May and due to 20 hrs/7 days a week check we got the days on April. Now my MIL and mother got visa and travelling next week. So keep trying.. don't leave or frusturate because of the irritating procedure.

Malayalam is the most demanding local language in Chennai. vfs system is currently overwhelmed and trying to improve to accomodate all applicant's needs. For those who doesn't get local language appointment as an alternative they can take it in English. There will be pre-interview awareness session with the applicants in the Consulate to make things easier for applicants. This will take away the fear in appearing interview in English. The questions of CO is simplified accordingly as a result of the recent changes implemented in all Cosulates. VFS is working hard to improve further.

                VisaChief,

Are you saying that it is okay to take appointment in English (since I am not able to get Tamil at chennai for weeks now) and try your luck at the interview. my Mom can not speak well in English and I am worried about the risk of rejection. Advice?
