Visitor Visa Extension

My parents have a 10 year multiple visitor visa. They visited USA several times before but they never had a problem.

1. Last time they entered USA in October 2015, we extended their visiting visa and they went back to India on July 2016.
2. They came back to USA in January 2017, but when they entered at port of entry they were questioned for 3 hours on why they are coming back so soon to USA and also asked if they would again extend their visiting visa, my parents have told immigration authorities that they will not be extending and would leave USA in 6 months.

But we want to extend their visa, I am in dilemma of whether to apply for their extension of visiting visa. Please let me know what would be the repercussion in applying for extending visitor visa.

You may be risking having them banned... They extended before and this time have told the officer that they will be leaving within 6 months. Extending at this time may seem like they are intending to immigrate. If that is the plan you should go ahead and adjust their status instead of extending. If not I think they should go home within the 6 months

It seems to me that your parents are in fact living here. If USCIS (when they application of extension of status) or CBP (when they next apply for admission at a port of entry) come to the same conclusion, their respective applications will be denied. If they are in fact living here, it would be easier to just apply for them to get immigrant visa

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your response. They are supposed to leave on July 11 2017 (end of 6 months). If I apply an extension now and if I don't get a response before July 11 2017 or if they get a denial then they will leave on July 11 2017, in this case is it still a risk to apply for an extension.
