I hope you guys can shed a little light in my situation. I have a brother living in the US with his family but not legally. His wife had a working visa before then she applied my brother to visit her in the US after they got married until they set up a family there and got denied for a greencard application several times. Up to now they are still living in the US.
I am a Canadian permanent resident and applying for a US VISA this May. On my DS_160 application I did not declare that I have an immediate family in the US but have a cousin who I put as my US contact because she's a US citizen. The reason why I didn't put my brother as my contact is because of their status.
When I was just applying for my canadian PR visa, I declared in that application that I have a brother in the US. So my question is does the US consulate have any access to my family background information that I declared in my canadian pr visa application. I'm afraid US consulate will discover that I have a brother living in the US with no legal status and worst case scenario US government will also discover it and have them deported. So now I'm contemplating if I will still show up in the appointment and will deny that I have immediate family in the US or just cancel it.
Can anybody give some advice regarding this. Thank you.
