plz reply regarding the language in visa appointment................

hi every body,
My name is prasad,glad to meet u all through this site, My query is my father and mother has an visitor visa interview on 24 apr 2006.The problem is they have booked the appointment in english language and my mother does not know english. i have heard theat there would be no problem with the language they let us to speak in our native language.But,some of my freinds are telling that there would be problem regarding the language conversation,they might take it as a serious draw back for visiting USA if we dont know english.My Father can manage in english aswell .
plz give ur valuable suggestions...............................

Prasad knowing English language is necessary *ONLY* for students (for obvious reasons). Parents doesn't have to know English. Since your father can speak in English he can answer the questions during interview and also let the officer know that your mom doesn't know English

This is been very bad period hearing that many visitors visas for paretns are gettign rejected.. I really appreciate if any one could explain the main parameters for rejection.

I took the interview time for both of my parents, Will the interview be taken together for both of them or individually? My mom can understand english, but cant speak english ... but my father can speak english...

I don’t think there are any certain predefined parameters for rejection, but
- Unable to show strong ties of visitors to go back to India
- Unable to show financial ability to support to trip and expenses during visitor stay in USA etc would play major role in rejection

It is advisable go for interview together even if they are not traveling together. (This is just my opinion.) . If one of the members of the group can understand English, he/she can play translator role.

It is not a bad period to get visa rather more visas are issued than any given month during the last 30 days.
