3 months stay in US on B2 visa

Hi,
I have got my B2 visa stamped and am planning to visit US for the first time.
I have got the return ticket of 3 months from my travel date.
Will it be ok if I tell the immigration officer about my 3 months stay. I'll be staying with my friend all this time.

You can tell them what you want... It is up to the officer how long you will be allowed to stay. He/She could say 1 month or 6 months.
