  • K1 vs B2, sponsoring girlfriend

Hi, I'm a US born citizen, age 28. I have a very stable job and income with over $10,000+ saved in bank. Never married.

I visited my girlfriend last month in Russia. We met. Now I want her to visit the US for 2 weeks. We will visit very specific locations and landmarks in my home and Hawaii. I do NOT want to use a K1 fiance visa to do this. I've known her for a few years but we both are not ready for marriage. It would be inappropriate and uncomfortable to ask her to use the K1.

    1) Is there a better alternative than the K1 visa? I'm concerned using the B2 tourist Visa because she is young, not rich, never married, and never been to the US, so maybe they will reject her B2 tourist visa.

    2) I can provide my girlfriend all the sponsor documents needed for her interview for the B2 tourist visa. But, my question is: will I have to mail these documents overseas? Or, can I email them? I want to send an image of the signed docs to her via email which she can then print properly and take to the interview. Is this acceptable for the US embassy in Moscow?

    Thanks

The appropriate visa for a temporary vacation is the B-2 visa

Any sponsorship documents must have an original signature from the sponsor, and the signature page cannot be scanned or copied/.

Ok, so not even a fax, yikes. Any idea how long that might take for the mail to arrive? It sucks having my information left vulnerable in the mail.

        Thanks for the response.
