B1/B2 expiring in Dec 2017

I intend to visit usa for 6 months starting from Sept 2017 till March 2018,where as my visa is expiring in Dec 2017.Should I get my visa renewed and then I go or I go like this and if stamping is done for 6 months,thrn can I stay up to March with expired visa with stamping of six months.I am afraid if say my visa application is rejected then I will not be able to go in sept 17 also.Suggest me what option I should use.

You don't need to do anything at this point.

You can enter the US even on the last date of visa stamp validity. Your stay duration will be determined by the date on I-94 Form and is independent of visa stamp duration.
