I hold an Indian Passport, but I have been in the UK for the last 6 years and hold an ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain), i.e., I am a permanent resident in the UK. I am gainfully employed as a Software Consultant (in a permanent role) and have sufficient funds to take care of my travel, stay etc.,
I applied for B2 Tourist visa and here is how it went
- Completed the DS160 form
- Scheduled an interview at the US Embassy in London, UK
- Attended the interview which went as follows
- Have you been to the US before? No, this is my first trip
- What is your purpose of travel? I intend to visit my brother who lives in Texas and visit places of tourist importance.
- So, this is a holiday? Yes, this is a holiday
- OK, We are done here. My colleague will show you the exit.
The passport was returned to me and so was the DS160 form. She did write ILTR Card and B1/B2 on the DS160 form. However, no additional forms were given or no reasons were stated.
What has happened?
- Since my passport was returned, I presume that my visa has been rejected? But, she didn't give me any reasons. Would I be getting an email regarding the reasons?
- The https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx shows my status as Application Received. See image attached.
What does this status mean, because in the UK Embassy site, they only talk about the various other statuses, i.e., No Status, Ready, Issued, Administrative Processing and Refused.
