My husband & I are qualified for US visa renewal interview waiver/ drop box but we prefer to have an interview so we can accompany during the interview other family members( w/o visas) who will go with us on next US trip. Can we choose that option?

what nationality? when you fill DS-160, it asks you if you have traveled to the USA, if yes when ?, then it asks do you have a valid visa? if yes, details of the visa and visa control no. if you fall in the category depending on currently visa before 1st jan 2008 or after 2004, you will be either put in visa interview waiver program or if you visa is after 1st jan 2008 you will put in drop box...you dont have a choice to choose yourself..if you want a interview or not..
after the DS-160 form, when you try to book an appointment, it starts asking questions, about your previous visa. so it automatically generates either drop box ( if your previous visa was granted after 1st jan 2008 and if before and after 2004 then VIWP. it will tell you what is the next step, as earlier said, you dont have a choice to choose for any option as choice. and please apply as per the standard system dont risk it and dont take it lightly.ten years is long time get it done and get over with it.
secondly who are these family members, you can always apply and give your visa reference, eg if your parents are going with you, they can say that are travelling with their kids for toursium, and carry your valid visa copies, if the intent is clean, trust me it will go through very smoothly..if not parents then dont bother and dont risk your visa ( anyway all family members or your relatives shall be screened indivusally for their job, work, financials, intent, objective, their ties..your standing next to them in interview has no relevance
