  • Pls help me

my mother's visa was rejected 3 months back. This time I want to send both my parents together. Is it ok this way ? will they ask my mother anything on this ?

My father is retired but is now practicing law. In order to prove strong ties with the country, should he mention that he is a practicing lawyer ? I think lawyers are considered professionals in US just like doctors . In that case, is it better for him to mention he is retired ?

Also I booked the appointment in English. My mother cannot speak English but my father can speak well. Is it ok or will the CO be angry why she has opted for English when she cannot speak ?

Pls help me with this. I have delivered recently & am all alone in this country. I want my parents to be with me for sometime. I have been reading the postings recently & am getting very useful feedback & tips from here.

See the reasons for rejections in the last time. Make sure that all the required docs are well prepared. sending them together shld be good i think

Its a good idea to send ur parents together as they will have company standing in the line and also feel comfortable and confident facing the interview. Also, are they self sponsoring the trip??.

Other than sayin he's practising law, u can establish some other strong ties like property management, relatives to take care of etc. Since ur father is retired, they will closely look at the details. Sent them an detailed itenary of what they gonna tour when they are here.

Things are going smooth now in the sense that there are not many rejections this month.

      All the best

          Thanks a lot sir.
By detailed itenary, do you mean filling up the itenary column in form DS156 or me sending a letter ?

They are not self financing the trip. My husband is going to sponsor them. Is it better if they sponsor themselves ? if so, how much amt should they show in their a/c ? SB a/c or FDs will do ? Last time my mother's visa was rejected on the reason sponsor's salary was insufficient. But now he has changed his job & is getting 65K.
            Pls advice.

Self sponsoring needs lots of money. FD's won't help..So better if ur hus. sponsor. In ur letter to consulate, highlight all their ties back to India.
