Question about Tourist visa.

I did my interview yesterday in UK for a Tourist Visa to the US. Officer said to wait for my approved visa on my passport in 2-3 days. My questions are:

I said to the officer that my point of entry will be new york but he did not ask if I'm going to visit other places (I plan to see 3 states). I realized that I might go to florida first as a port of entry (orlando) and eventually go to New York during my trip. Also, I plan to fly on the first week of August and I do not know if my tourist visa will be valid as soon as I receive my passport. I tried looking online for answer but could not find any.

You can enter the US from anywhere you like and visit any place in the US place you like.

You can enter the US at any time during the duration of visa stamp validity. Typically, the validity starts right away.

Hello everyone,
I'll be applying for US b2 visa. One of my friend's uncle is inviting him and two of us. He'll be sponsoring us and take all the responsibilities of our expenses. I'm 19 years old and currently studying at home, will be appearing for Edexcel As level exams on January session at British council. Currently I'm staying at Oman (it's almost 12 years now). My family stays here. So can you guys please suggest me some ideas to increase chances of visa approval?
