Hi All
I would like to thank everyone in the discussion forum for all their valuable posts and suggestions. My parents had VISA appointment in Chennai on Apr 21st at 1.45 PM. They reached consulate at 12.30 and were out waiting in the hot humid sun till about 3.00 PM to enter in. Finally they were let in and were finger printed and then asked to move on to the next location for interview. They waited for a long time and finally the officer interviewed them at 6.00 PM. Everything was kool and not too complicated. Then didnt bother to look into any documentation my parents carried with them. Following is what they asked them.......
1) How many childeren do you have.... replied (3 , 2 - sons and a daughter)
2) How long is u r elder son in US (replied about 9 years)
3) Did he marry a US citizen (replied NO. He married and Indian girl)
4) Where did he get married (replied ...hyderabad)
5) When did he get married (replied YYYY X)
6) Who arranged the marriage (replied I have arranged their marriage)
7) Are you still employed (replied No SIR .... I am retired)
8) Where was your employer and designation (replied YYYY YYYY X)
9) Do you get any pension (replied YYYY ZZZ)
10) Do you have property in INDIA (replied YES SIR)
11) Is the house you r living your own or rented (replied OWN)
12) Who all live with you in the same house (replied My wife, me and my younger son)
13) What does your younger son do (replied YYYY XX)
14) Is he married (replied NO SIR.... He is yet to get married)
Then he asked for my pay checks and GC copies and asked them to go pay the fees and were told they would get their passport in 4 days. My parents received their PP today and were very happy to see that they were granted 10 years VISA. They didnt question about the daughter........
Thanks to immihelp for all the valuable documentation which made eveything look so simple.
Thanks
JV
