  • Married to UK National but still rejected

    Hi All

Just after some advice. I originally applied for a b2 Tourist Visa in Nov 2016 and it got rejected. I am a Bangladeshi national, living in London on a spouse visa and am married to British-born UK national who also works for the UK government. I had a passport with visa stamps from Italy and Malaysia in it also. Still this was not enough. Granted I had only been in the UK for six months and was not working at the time. My husband would have funded the trip and was travelling with me and I took his bank statements but they did not look at any of my documentation and despite it being on the electronic form I am married to a British national, they still asked what visa my husband was on during the interview?! The purpose was to visit my cousin who has been a US national for many years. Still this was not enough and they had the dreaded form of rejection ready in their hand not long after I entered the room. They said I did not have strong enough economic ties at the time even though I was married to a UK national? Why would I leave him? She did not ask many questions but did ask some surrounding my marriage which I thought were a bit irrelevant.

I am now planning to apply again in October. I will have been working for ten months and so will be able to fund the trip myself this time and will have been in the UK. What are my chances this time?
