My parents got 10 yr visa on their second attempt. Last time it was 'English' interview and this time 'Telugu' interview.
Questions:
1. Where you kid works?
2. How long your kid working at that company?
3. Are you working or retired? Both retired and they showed the retirement papers.
4. You got any property? Yes, show the property papers.
5. Where are you currently staying? With our elder son.
6. Show any pictures of you with your kid and current family.
They looked at all my papers (2005 tax papers, 2004 tax papers, bank balance). I sent my parents copy of my birth certificate but they didn't ask for it.
That's it and they got the visa.
It's 8 AM appointment so the person was in good mood. They also got lady translator for 'Telugu'. But they didn't use the translator service as all the questions/answers were in English only. My parents said last time they didn't understand the questions at all when they attended the 'English' interview.
One more my parents noticed is there were no students on that day. Last time in time July they said lot of students were there for F1 visa. It's better to take an appointment when there is no F1 student rush. (like Jan or Jun/Jul)
Today they received the passports via courier.
