My parents are going to Chennai consulate for visitor visa & my husband is going to sponsor them.I have these queries. Pls reply -

    1) Neither I nor my husband have birth certificates. Is it necessary to send the birth certificates ? I heard that this is reqd only for Mumbai consulate.

    2) Is it OK if we take one I-134 for both my parents or a separate one is reqd for each ?

    3) When should my parents show their documents to the CO ? For each question CO asks, should they answer by presenting the relevant document from their file or just reply orally & show the documents only when the CO asks ?

4)If my father says his old mother is staying with us will they ask for any proof of it ? My Grandmother stays with my parents for some days & some days in her village. If they say their grand daughter (i.e. my brother's daughter) stays with them, will they have to show any proof of this ? which is better old mother or young grand daughter or both ? Is there any problem with this ?

    5) My parents have their appointment in the last week of august. But in the DS-156 I mentioned their arrival date in US as october 1st. Will the CO ask why you want to travel after 40 days ? Is this gap ok ?

    6) Is it OK if I send the documents 2 months prior to the appointment date ?

All these questions are from me & my friends. All of them going to Chennai consulate. Your reply will highly be appreciated.

A notarised affidavit of birth from ur parents or relatives will be enough. Its good to have. Only ur BC is enough.

One I134 is enough if both have same appt time

If there is any docs that supports the answer, u can try to show it.
