  • Air ticket Name different from US tourist Visa Name

I am a foreigner with permanent resident in Japan. I have a 10 year US tourist Visa on my last passport. Then I applied for a new passport because of expiration. I always visit US with my old passport attached to my new one, and there is no problem. Now I had changed my name back to my maiden name, and my Embassy stamped my maiden name on the Amendment (page 2 of passport). So my official name now is my maiden name, so i was told by the Japanese Immigration to buy my Airline ticket with my new name and it also matches my Non-Japanese Registration card with I always need to show the Japnese Immigration when going in and out of Japan. My problem is , will I not be asked at the port of entry in US about my US tourist Visa name not matching my ticket, but it does matches my front page information on my passport? I asked the US embassy here in Japan about that and their answer is that the best way is to reapply for a Visa with my mmaiden name, or I can the the Visa in my passport if I dont have time to apply but carry with official document as evidence of name change....?????????. The only official evidence that I have is my passport, which has my maiden name amended(stamped by my embassy). Will that be good enough? What other official evidence I can show as proof? Its hard to ask questions at the US embassy here, you always need to use your credit to have an answer either by phone or by e-mail. At port of entry, they always take biometrics, take pics and put it on their computer, and I have gone thru that everytime i go on Visit....will that not be evidence that I am the same person? Please advise...highly appreciated... will leave this May....

You need to have sufficient ID including old and new passports to prove at port of entry that US visa issued person is the same as the person now entering US.
