Tourist Visa ( Immigrant Visa already in process )

Hello,

I have applied for an immigrant visa. My wife is USA citizen by birth. We got married in India ( Court marriage ) 4 years ago. She also got OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India). she stays 6-8 months India and few months in the USA. Now it's been almost year she is in USA. Its good idea for me to apply for Tourist Visa to Visit her? What are the chances of rejection? I have never travelled to any country before.
