***Mother's name issue in Passport***

Hi Admin et all,
My mother in law's intvw is scheduled next month at chennai consulate. Her name in her Indian records(Ration card, voter's card...etc) is completely different from my wife's passport name. (For example, her name is abc in indian records. But in my wife's passport her name is entered as xyz . ) Will this be an issue ? How do I overcome this ? Pls advice .

As far as Ur mom's name in the passport and all records match, it should be fine.

BTW, How can one put XYZ in ur wife's passport if her mom's name is abc.. OR is it only a minor difference?
