Using a B2 again after an extension

Hello, regarding extension of the B2 visa, I have two questions:

1. Can you apply too early? We want to avoid a reply that is past the visa deadline

2. Can you use the 10 year B1/B2 visa a second or third time after you have received the extension, or is the visa then voided?

1. You should not apply for at least 30 days after arriving in the US.
2. You can use the visa for 10 years unless it is voided. It does not get voided just because you applied for extension.
