  • Expert Advise needed regarding B2 Visa Documentation

    Hello

    My parents are attending the interview on May 25th at US Consulate Chennai.In my parents case there are self sponsors in other words they are providing their own financial documents and assets of their own and they are going to take care of their own expenses which includes flight travel expenses.From our side myself and my husband both are going to provide them Food and Housing accomodation and providing the car rides whenever we are going out for the pleasure trip during their stay in USA.

    Though Myself and my Husband both are Green card Holders and employed in a respectable positions and financialy sound to support my parents they don't want us to Sponsor as my parents still feel they are financially sound to support themselves.

    In this case is it necessary for me to send the invitation letter to my parents because when i noticed the invitation letter is applicable only in the cases where the parents are sponsored by their sons or daughters financially for their trip in USA.

    Please let me know what should i mention in the invitation letter in this case where my parents are the self sponsors.Is it okay if i just mention that i am inviting you both ti visit USA and stay with us in our home and to visit places in USA?

    Please guide me.Expecting the advise.

      more info on B2 VISA

      My parents and parents in law have applied for B2 Visa separately and both of them have stated themselves as self sponsors. So do we still need to send bank statements, I-134 form etc from US.
      And in the invitation letter, if it is stated that "i will take care of expenses if required" will it contradict the self sponsored remark? They are going to say during the interview that they will be bearing the flight expenses to and fro, so do u think its a good idea to say that within US my son-in law or son will take care of expenses. Or is it better that we dont write anything about expenses at all in the invitation letter and let them say that they will be bearing everything right from flight to travel and food in US?

        Advice ; When posting a new query, you should start a new thread and not follow other threads to avoid getting lost.

        Ans to your query;
        If they are self financing, you should not send any I-134. ANd you should not mention anything about expenses in your letter. They should mention that
        they will be bearing all the expenses. Dividing air fare and living expenses is a big mistake.

        PS They should make sure they have enough income and funds to qualify for self-financing.
