  • 9 month tourist visa

My fiancé and I are from Belgium but we are house sitting at the moment. We have a potentional house sit in the US next year April, but only if it works out with the visa. The house sit would be for 8 or 9 months. We basically look after people's home and pets and get to explore the area. We have our own monthly income. After this house sit we would leave the country and go to Australia to continue our travels before heading back to Belgium.

Is there a certain visa we can apply for? I read something about a one to ten year visa but it only seems to give you six months.

    Thank you very much.

B-2 visas are usually granted by consulates for ten years, multiple entry

CBP officers generally grant 6 months of status to B-2 visa holders upon admission. Tourists can negotiate with the officer to be granted a longer duration of lawful admission

If that doesn't work, tourists can apply for an extension of status while in the United States
