Can I change to a connecting flight in LAX with an expired B2?

Hi, I'm currently in the US and my Tourist B2 Visa expires at the beginning of February 2018. I will exit the US before then and go into Canada few weeks, and then I will return to Australia. To get from Canada to Australia, I will change flights in LAX... am I allowed to do this if my B2 Visa has expired??? I don't wish to leave the airport, just to get on a connecting flight. Thanks in advance for any advice or insight.

To transit the US, you must enter the US. If your passport needs a visa to visit the US, you will also need a visa to transit the US.
