Visa for In-laws 50-50
Hi All,
Thanks for such a great site, was very helpful in finding answers for all my queries and in preparing the documents.
My in-laws had visa interview in Chennai consulate on May 3rd, Morning.(Tamil)
My wife had sponsored their visa, her brother is also in US. Father-in-law still working. They were called to the counter at noon
VO: how many children you have
in-laws : 2
VO: who is sponsoring
in-laws : daughter
VO: where is she in US
in-laws : xxx
VO: where is the other child
in-laws: xxx
VO: Sorry, since both your children are in US, you are not eligible for visa. your visa is rejected... (did not ask for any of the documents even when they tried to show)
saying so, VO took my father-in-laws application and marked rejected .when the VO just took my mother-in-laws application ,my father -in-law requested VO.. "she is very eager to meet her daughter please grant visa to her atleast..". Just in a moment, VO told ok and marked granted in that application.
It was actually a miracle that it happened. Though we wanted both to come here, we are relieved and glad that atleast my mother-in-law could come now. We are yet to know about the duration as passport has to come.
