  • Period of stay in US

My parents have visa interview on next week.

Would like to know whether they have to print their name in native language
like kannada in DS-157 Column 3 or it should be left open.

And also i have mentioned in DS-156 period of stay for 6 months in US.

Will it back fire , can anyone suggest me is it to be good if i mention as 4-5 months instead of 6 months.

After seeing lot of rejection in this site i am feeling to change their
period of stay in US as 4-5 months.

Please suggest, next monday is the interview.

Once you filled in the period of stay in US when you got appointment, do not try to change.

you can change FORM info (DS-156 & DS-157)

Who said you cannot change....if one does not know just say "check w/VFS"

I changed my parents & in-laws stay period after 5 months (after fixing appointment) at chennai, that too 1 week before interview (which took place this week of may).

You CAN CHANGE no problem at all, but you CANNOT change 2 days before interview (as all the info goes to consulate from VFS).

If you have questions just email [email protected] (just check exact email w/vfs site). They reply within 2-3 business days. I communicated few times (prompt reply)

Note: you can change all info on DS-156 (except questions 1 to 14) and all on DS-157

Also note if you filled form online you can change online, but if filled at vfs centre pesonnaly, then you need to go personnaly to make change

        regards
