when do we get the passport back from chennai counslate

hai all,

my parents got visa at chennai counslate and we r waiting for their passport to come.....does anybody know how long it takes for the passport to come? And onemore thing the passport delivery address is in chennai only....but we still didnot get our passports.....i am bit worried.....when i was checking with vfs website it is showing the same message everytime

"passport has not be handed to the vfs and so on...."

what does this mean?

any suggestions will b appreciated
