Lay over in the states on my way to Cuba

I am Egyptian & Permanent resident of Canada and i’m traveling to Cuba, i also have a valid B1/B2 US visa. My trip include 2 stops, one in USA & one in Cancun Mexico(through 2 different airlines). Will US embargo on Cuba affect me because my final destination is Cuba or that is out of the scope of the US costumes & Border Protection officers?
