change of status

hi
i am having F2 visa validity till sep 2020 and i went to india in march 2017.
i came back in june 2017 and at that time my sevis number is terminated and the immigration officer told me at that moment.
he gave me b2 visa at the port of entry for 6 months and its just updated in i94 not in the passport.
now i am applying for masters here for change of status to F2/B2 to F1.
i already got my i20 from my college.

so can u please suggest me what were the next steps for change of status.
i dont want to go back to india and re apply for F1 visa.
because now a days its very tough to get visa
so please suggest me the next further steps.
