Would DS-156 Form Details be Lost if I cancel a visa appointment?

Hi,

I would like to know if my DS-156 forms would be lost as well, if I cancel any existing appointment. Basically, I would like to cancel, and book new appointment, but dont want to go through the hassle of re-entering all the information.

Also: Do they show different availability dates to reschedule an appointment versus setting a new appointment?

When is the good time (in IST) to look for available times to book an appointment?

Yes, once you cancel the appointment, all data entered in DS-156 and 157 is lost and you need to re-enter data

Thanks for your reply. I have a doubt. When i see estimate date availability in VFS site, i see Sept7th and when i go ahead book the appointment, then i am seeing dates in october but not the one which i saw earlier. I thought may be that slot would be taken by someone. After this , when i again check the availabilty, its still showing the sept 7th.

Also, please advice me how to get an early appointment. I am trying to hard to book one in August for my in-laws.

This is the same compliant by many who are willing to reschedule the dates. Looks like this is how VFS site works.

Just keep checking date.
Per VFS, you cannot prepone all you can do postpone interview date.
