My Mom Got Visa Today at chennai Consulate. She had appt At 10:15Am In english. She said everything went smoothly. Here are the procedure
* Security check and show appt letter and passport
* Lady in the counter asked for DS 156, DS 157, Passport And HDFC reciept and told my mom to wait in other building/room. And she would send the file to counter when your called.
* My mom waited for while and when her chance came around 12ish
she went near the window and said
MOM :- Good Afternoon Officer (Smiling All the time)
VO:- Very Good Morning
VO:- How long has it been since u saw ure daughter?
MOM:- Its Been two years.
VO:- What does ure son-in-law Do?
MOM:- He Is YYYY Eng.
Vo:- What Does ure daughter do?
MOM:- YYYY
VO:- What is ure son in laws home address?
MOM:- YYYY YYYY YYYY YYYY YYYY X ( Ans according to the DS156)
VO:-How many daughters do u have?
MOM:- 1 in usa and 2 in india.
VO:- Why is ure husband not joining you?
MOM:- My mother in law is aged and i have unmarried daughter at home
VO:- Will you come back
MOM:- Yes i will.
VO:- You Have been issued Visa. Go and pay the Fee.
It was a happy moment for my mom.
Anyway Vo Didnt ask for any other documents. My mom said everybody in the consulate were very nice. and they were taking really good care of old age people. ( My Mom is Just 47yrs old :-). Do not know yet for how long she got visa. she has to wait for 72 hrs to p/u passport at courier service in bangalore called Blue dart. Did anybody have to P/u passport at courier service. When we filled out Appl forms online i didnt get an option to put bangalore addr so we chose blue dart service? Somebody plz let me know. And i would like thank Immihelp for helping people out . You Guys are AWESOME. Thank you All Very much.
