My sister is 38 years old. Her tourist visa has been rejected 4 times as she was not able to convince them of having ties in home country. She is unmarried, but has a job. After her last rejection, my father passed away. Now my mom wants to travel here and we are thinking of reapplying for her as an escort for my 65 year old mother. Her job is still the same and her marital status too, but does this qualify as change in social status if my father is no more and will this help with getting a visa? We are confused as to how to get visa for her.

Even if she is applying for a tourist visa so that she can escort her mother, who is now a widow, it is still just applying for a B1/B2 visa. It will not improve her chances of getting the visa. If anything, it could even further make it a challenge as now, she is traveling with her mother who does not have a spouse to return to. The things they look for will be the same. Because she would still find it difficult to show strong ties to home country, again that could prevent the visa from being approved.
All you can do is apply.
