  • Question regarding number of months stay

Question regarding number of months stay:
Last time my mom visa got rejected.Last time we requested for 6 moths.
According to forums this time i am requesting for 3 months.

    Question is:
What is the best answer if vo ask why you are applying for 3 months?
Why did you apply 6 months last time.

If any body faced this question in their interview and they got visa please help me too.

    Thanks in advance..

    Vinsula,

I would suggest 2 months or so for duration of stay.
My parents visa was rejected last year, the reason was insufficient ties to home country. He had mentioned 6 months as duration of stay.

Last month, they had their second scheduled interview, they were tensed and nervous. This time, they mentioned their stay of 2 months stating that they had to take care of their property and other things and could not stay longer than that. During the interview, the VO said that she will give two months visa. My father said, it's not a problem even if she gave visa valid only for a month. Turns out, they got 10 year visa.

So, it's very important to be determined and stick to what you mention in the form. I don't think they will compare what you had mentioned in the form the last time and what you have this time. If they do and ask you about the difference, give some reason which may sound genuine. If you are from the east coast, and your mom is planning to come few months b4 the winter season, you can use that as a reason.

    Hope that helps. Good Luck!
