  • Thank you Immihelp.com

    Hello Admins & Mods,
First of all I'd like to say thanks to you guys who are doing a wonderful job by providing such an extensive resourceful website. An Indian friend of mine had referred me to this site in order to get information about how to get my Mother-in-Law a tourist visa from Pakistan. We had carefully followed everything that was explained here regarding the visa process and the related documents. On May 12th 2006, she was granted a tourist visa from Islamabad counslate to come and visit her daughter.

I'm really grateful to immihelp.com and my Indian friend to make this happen. Without you this would have not been possible.

    thanks

    sincerely

    Kaash

Her apponitment time was @ 7:30am and they were in outside lines by 6am. It took her about hour and a half to reach the window. She was interviewed only for five minutes and was asked following questions.

1- Why do you want to go?
2- How many kids do you have here?
3- When did your husband died?
4- Who is sponsoring you from US?
5- What does your daughter do in America?

He checked every document we had sent from US including cover letter to the visa officer, Affidavit of Support and other supporting docs. such as job letter, pay stubs, w2's , tax returns etc etc. He did not check it thorougly but glanced through the whole packet. When offered, he refused to see any documents that were prepared in Pakistan. The conclusion is, sponsor's papers must be genuine and strong.

We don't know that she has gotten a 5 or 10 year M/S entry visa 'coz they have not recieved the passport yet but I'll post the updates once I find out. Thanks everyone who has been contributing to this forum and website.
      PEACE
      Kaash

        another related question?

Now since she has acquired the visa...what would she say at the port of entry, when asked that how long you are here for?

On the application she had wrote 6-8 weeks....should she stick to the same statement or ask for longer stay?
Ideally we'd like her to stay for the period of whole six months so I guess the real question is....what should be said to get a six month entry?

        thanks
