Hi all,
Couldn't get any response by emailing the US consulate here in the UK and there seems to be no way to speak to a human at either the consulate or the contractor they use for visa applications, so giving it a shot here.
I have a Hong Kong passport. I received a B2 tourist visa to the US in early 2015, valid for 10 years until 2025. I visited the US once in 2015 on the tourist visa and returned to Hong Kong after two weeks.
Later in 2015, I received a job offer in the US and with it an L1B visa valid for up to 5 years. As far as I could tell, my existing tourist visa was not cancelled (no markings on the visa itself and I don't remember any discussion with the consulate staff/immigration officers about what happens to the tourist visa). After 2.5 years in the US on the L1B visa, I was reassigned to work in the UK and my L1B visa was cancelled.
I now want to visit the US as a tourist again and am trying to find out if my previously issued B2 tourist visa (that was originally valid until 2025) is still valid or if I now need to apply for another tourist visa.
Does anyone know what I need to do in this case? Or can I someone provide a "hack" to speak to a human at the US consulate/visa office here in London?
