J1 Married to an American Citizen - B2 Visa

Good day everyone,

I am from Colombia and got married to a US Citizen while on a J-1 visa. I am still in the US and I am subject to the two-year home residency requirement.

I wonder if I can travel to the US while I am completing my two years in Colombia under a B2 visa, which I don't have by the way. I'm not sure if it is convenient to apply to a B2 visa while I am in Colombia completing the two-year rule requirement.

You can keep visiting USA on B2 visa, but then it will increase your two-year residency requirement.
